Since 2018, Dr. Samir Sodha has been working as a medical officer at WHO Headquarters in Geneva with the Essential Programme on Immunization (EPI) in the Department of Immunizations, Vaccines, and Biologicals (IVB). Dr. Sodha’s work focuses on strengthening routine immunization and improving immunization coverage and equity.
Before joining WHO, Dr. Sodha worked with the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention as the Resident Advisor to the India Epidemic Intelligence Service and before that as the Routine Immunization Team lead in the Global Immunization Division.
Dr. Sodha received his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine and has completed clinical training in internal medicine and pediatrics. He also has a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in International Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
