Milena Soares has a PhD in Biophysics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with a sandwich period at Harvard University, in the United States. She is one of the founders and former president of the Brazilian Association of Cell and Gene Therapy (ABTCEL-GEN), as well as a consultant for the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) in the area of cell and gene therapy.
Currently, she is a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and SENAI / CIMATEC in Bahia, in addition to coordinating the Tissue Engineering and Immunopharmacology Laboratory.
