O I Annual Scientific and Technological Seminar foi planejado para ser um hub para cientistas, empreendedores e empresas de biotecnologia para acelerar o desenvolvimento de soluções inovadoras para a saúde da população.
This first Annual Scientific & Technological Seminar on Immunobiologicals of the Institute of Technology in Immunobiologicals/Bio-Manguinhos, took place on August 12, 13 and 14, 2013, in the auditorium of the Museu da Vida, on the Fiocruz Campus. The event was attended by researchers from Fiocruz and other institutions with expertise in various areas related to Health. Notably, the scientific-technological themes focused on issues related to vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, reagents for laboratory diagnosis, including topics related to technological management, control, and quality assurance of these areas.
The first day was dedicated to discussions about the various aspects related to vaccines; the next day was dedicated to biopharmaceuticals and reagents for diagnosis, and the last day was dedicated to discussions about innovation and public-private partnerships. On every day formal presentations took place, complemented by oral and poster presentations.

The External Award Committee considered that most posters contained very interesting material in the areas of Vaccines, Biopharmaceuticals, Reagents and Other Topics. Taking into account the criteria defined by the Scientific Committee of the Seminar, it analyzed in detail the posters and selected the following papers and posters for awards:
