Ana Paula Assef has a degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and a PhD in Sciences (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is currently a senior researcher and Head of the Laboratory of Bacteriology Applied to One Health and Antimicrobial Resistance at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute – FIOCRUZ, a CNPq productivity scholarship holder and a Scientist of Our State from FAPERJ, a member of the Technical Chamber of Microbial Resistance (CATREM) of ANVISA and the Technical Chamber of Infection Prevention and Control in HAIs of the State of Rio de Janeiro (SVS-RJ) and coordinates research projects related to the topic of antimicrobial resistance with national and international funding.
