Christiane Gerke has a PhD in immunology and host-pathogen interactions from Stanford University (USA) and a PhD in Microbial Genetics from the University of Tübingen (Germany). She has over 15 years of experience translating science into innovative vaccine candidates through Phase II clinical trials and/or partnerships focused on Global Health and Pandemic Preparedness.
She served at the Novartis Vaccines Institute for Global Health in Siena (Italy) and was Head of Vaccine Programs and co-leader of the newly created Vaccinology and Immunotherapy Initiative at the Institut Pasteur in Paris (France). She is currently program director at the European Regional Office of the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in Stockholm (Sweden).
