Cristiana Toscano is a medical doctor specializing in infectious diseases, trained in Brazil and with field epidemiology training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States. With a focus and experience in Global Health and Immunization, she has worked in various positions and countries for the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization. She has been honored with the Oswaldo Cruz Medal for her work in the area of immunizations in Brazil. She is a professor at the Federal University of Goiás, where she coordinates the newly established Center of Excellence in Technology and Innovation in Health (Ceti-Saúde). She is a member of technical advisory committees on immunizations, including the Technical Chamber of Immunizations (CTAI) of Brazil, and the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) of the WHO.
