Industrial organic chemist with a PhD from the University of Florence, Italy, and over 15 years of experience in vaccine development, focusing her research on bacterial vaccines against AMR pathogens affecting vulnerable populations. She has contributed to the development of vaccines for Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Paratyphi A, non-typhoidal Salmonella, Shigella, Group A Streptococcus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Neisseria meningitidis. Since 2020, she has been Senior Project Leader at GSK Vaccines Institute for Global Health and, since 2021, also Director of the Innovation Academy, working on innovative vaccine technology platforms. An expert in glycoconjugation and GMMA platforms, she is the author of over 120 scientific publications and several patent applications, and serves on the board of BactiVac, the first bacterial vaccine network with an LMIC-centric focus.
