Livia Schiavinato Eberlin holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil), a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University, USA, and pursued her postdoctoral research in Chemistry at Stanford University, USA. Eberlin began her independent career in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. She and her team are recognized for their groundbreaking research in analytical chemistry, medical mass spectrometry, and cancer research. Eberlin has received honors for her research, including an NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award, Forbes 30 under 30 in the Healthcare category, a Sloan Fellowship, a Moore Inventor Fellowship, and a MacArthur Fellowship. Dr. Eberlin’s research program focuses on the development and application of novel mass spectrometry technologies in healthcare-related research, with a particular focus on disease detection and diagnosis. She is currently Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, USA.
