Patrícia Alvarez holds a degree in Biology (Genetics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) and a Master’s degree in Biological Chemistry from the same university. She has experience in the area of molecular biology and automation, with an emphasis on biotechnology, virology and Real-Time and digital PCR platforms, working mainly on the following topics: development and standardization of molecular diagnostic tests (NAT, viral load and typing): HIV, HCV, HBV, Malaria, Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, Mayaro and Yellow Fever and Malaria. She is currently a Specialist at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, managing strategic projects in the area of technological development based on molecular diagnostics, meeting the demands of the Ministry of Health.
