She holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), including research conducted at the AIDS Vaccine Research Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA). She also holds a Master’s degree in Parasitic Biology from Fiocruz and a degree in Biomedicine from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO).

She has nearly two decades of experience in immunology and the development of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals, with active engagement in public health and in promoting equitable access to vaccines and health products in low- and middle-income countries.

She plays a leading role in the development of RNA-based technologies in Brazil, driving initiatives aimed at regional self-sufficiency and expanding access to RNA platforms across Latin America and Africa. Her work includes the development of vaccines and therapies fully designed and produced in Brazil.

She has received national and international recognition, including the Women in Science Award (PDA Brazil), the Altruism Award for the Improvement of World Health (SIBEN – Argentina), and the Oswaldo Cruz Award at the 8th ISI for her contributions to quality control strategies for RNA vaccines at Fiocruz.

She is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales (Australia) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Chanjo Imperial Hub at Imperial College London.

She currently serves as Head of RNA Product Development.
