IV International Symposium on Immunobiologicals

The scientific program of the IV ISI, which took place in the auditorium of the Museu do Amanhã, in Rio de Janeiro, with a capacity for almost 400 people, had three full days of event, starting in the morning of May 7 and ending in the late afternoon of May 9, 2019
In parallel to the event’s main program, the Innovation Hub took place in the Tomorrow’s Observatory room of the museum, with a capacity of 45 people. The Innovation Hub had a highly participatory program, focusing on collaboration, fostering partnerships, providing services, and accelerating projects. There were presentations of the technological assets of Bio-Manguinhos, pitches from selected startups in the biotechnology area, financing opportunities and funding edicts, a moment for interaction between entrepreneurs, private meeting times and also satellite symposiums with technological solutions and scientific themes presented by companies in the sector that supported the event.
In the week prior to the IV ISI, four pre-event workshops were organized to discuss and propose solutions to critical issues for Bio-Manguinhos and public health in Brazil, with themes on entrepreneurship, quality control optimization in biotechnology processes, productivity improvement, and solutions for the treatment of diabetic foot in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). The workshops consisted of working meetings with the participation of invited experts to discuss and formulate proposals for important themes for the provision of products and services for public health in Brazil.

Pre-event workshops - May 3rd

On May 3, the Rio Art Museum (MAR) hosted the pre-event workshops that were part of the IV International Symposium on Immunobiologicals (ISI) and VII Annual Scientific and Technological Seminar (SACT), which took place right next door, at the Museum of Tomorrow, from May 7 to 9.

1st day - May 4rd

THE SYMPOSIUM IS OFFICIALLY OPENED, AS ARE DISCUSSIONS FOR INNOVATION IN HEALTH

The IV International Symposium on Immunobiologicals had already passed by the Rio de Janeiro Art Museum on May 3, when four workshops took place as a kind of warm-up for the event, but it was officially opened at the Museum of Tomorrow, nearby in Praça Mauá, on the afternoon of May 7.

2nd day - May 5rd

INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM, MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE AND ARBOVIRUS VACCINE DEVELOPMENT ARE HIGHLIGHTS IN THE SECOND DAY OF THE EVENT

Alongside to the main sessions, the Innovation Hub programming had great prominence in the second day of IV ISI, where companies such as BNDES, Finep, Biominas and Embrapii presented their way of working and how they can help in the development of new initiatives.

3rd day - May 6rd

DIAGNOSTIC KITS, THE FUTURE OF VACCINES AND GLOBAL ALLIANCES ARE DISCUSSED IN THE LAST DAY OF THE EVENT

After three days of presentations on innovative themes and fundamental discussions for public health in Brazil, the IV ISI comes to an end, with important lectures and the awarding of the best works presented in the scientific poster exhibition.
